While I am driving and if my A/C is on my interior dash lights go out and the A/C stops blowing. If I am sitting at a stop light with foot on the brake or parked and the A/C is on my car revs on its own.

Hi,

There could be an issue in the smart junction box or a weak ground. I have a couple questions that may sound odd. Have you noticed anything other than the instrument panel lights turning off? Do you have to turn the A/C off for them to return? Do the power windows stop working when this happens?

As far as the idle, how high does it get? The vehicle is designed to raise the idle speed to compensate for the extra load from the compressor. If the compressor isn't turning on but the computer thinks it is, a slight increase in idle speed wouldn't be out of the question.

Let me know.

Take care,

Joe

No, it comes on by itself so does the A/C. It revs like between 1 and 2 RPMs everything else works fine nothing else stops working. Today when I was driving the lights stayed on but the A/C stopped and turned back on.

If the A/C stopped, we need to check the connection at the compressor. It could be loose, damaged, or corroded.

I am understanding you correctly that the compressor (A/C) stops and not the fan motor in the vehicle, correct?

If possible, confirm that for me so I know which way to go for sure. Also, let me know if it has automatic climate control or manual control.

Take care,
Joe
