Losing power and knocking noise

When I start knocking noise from engine bay can't drive more than 40kph no power. When the engine is hot can't start

Hi,

Is the check engine light on when the engine runs? Is it flashing? As far as a knocking, that could be an internal engine issue. Take a look through this link. It discusses the most common engine sounds, their causes, and how they are repaired.

Next, do me a favor. After driving it, look under the vehicle at the catalytic converter and see if it is red hot.

One last thing. Could you confirm the engine size. What you indicated wasn't an option.

Engine light on but not flashing plus VDC and traction control lights on.
Engine size 2.5L diesel looks sound coming from turbo.
