In the 2002 Mercedes-Benz C240, there is no standalone "neutral safety switch".

The neutral safety function is integrated into the Electronic Selector Module (ESM/EWM) at the base of the gear shifter. Is this what you are talking about?

Inside the transmission, part of the conductor plate on the valve body it uses logic to kind of act as the gear range sensor, strange set up. What kind of problem are you having?

Well it's in limp mode and got only 2nd gear. I replaced the transmission conductor plate and the TCM and got it programmed. These are the codes I'm getting P0705, P0730, P2502, P240C, P1056, P2000, C1035, C1179, C1181, C1174. That's from doing a manual diagnostic of everything. After surfing the internet I figured it was either a solenoid or TRS.

That's a lot of codes, only three of them are for the transmission.

P0705 - Transmission Range Sensor Circuit Malfunction (PRNDL Input)
P0730 - Incorrect Gear Ratio
P2502 - Transmission Fluid Level/Pressure Too Low

It seems like the shifter is the gear range mode switch. I would try getting a used one from eBay and install it, then clear the codes, Also, there are fluid pressure and level codes so be sure to double check the fluid level. Please start new questions for the other codes. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.

Yep, that is it, let me know if it fixes it. You have already replaced the other parts so this is the only thing left.
