Transmission Problems

Our Lincoln Town Car has 187,000 mi.'S. I have tried a tune-up on the transmission but I still get vibration when the car enters and exits passing gear (feels like pavement is rough whole car rumbles). It does it on flat surfaces as well as hills and curves but not as often. It is not every time but more often than not. If you can help please do!

You might be in for some money now.I have a town car with a similiar problem, I have found out that the transmissions on the towncars have a kit out for them which replaces the aluminum piston with a steel one. Solonoids might be your problem as well. Try to make the car shift your self instead of putting it into D put it into 1 and then pop it up into second and so on. If you do plan on getting a trasmission try for a Ford Cetafied one, it will be updated with the newer kit from ford.
