I have taken my 2000 lincoln cartier town car to many shops for what seems to be the same prob. Just a month ago I had the alternator replaced and shortly after(2 weeks) w/out driving I had a new batterry replaced I drove the vehicle for about 5 days until today whle just sitting in my own parking lot at home with the car running the window would not go down automaticly, the radio stop wking, and the car cut off. I had to jump my car w/jumping cables twice just to move it properly into the parking space. I am completely confused as to why something is continuing to drain the battery/or alternator? When I took it to the repair the 1st time for the repair mechanics read the alternator needed replacing then the prob happen again and the mechanics said the battery was picking up as needing replacing and so now here I am agan. Please can anyone help!

Have your ignition switch tested, this is the plastic part the wiring harness plugs into, NOT the key cylinder! Replacing the cylinder requires a FORD super star tester to reprogram the new keys!
