Engine Performance problem
1997 Lincoln Town Car V8 Automatic 167000 miles

The check engine light came on but went out when I had to have a new battery installed. The car just drives very rough. The engine does burn oil. It doesn't leak just burns. I have to put a qt in once a month. Could this be a transmission issue or just may need a tune up?

1st thing you need to do here is have the computer scanned for code/s. Burning oil will caused the plugs to fouled up and cause misfires/running rough its not a tranny issue-

Giving it a tune-up is not gonna do you good -you need to find out where its leaking in the combustion chamber.
