1995 Lincoln Town Car Interior door locks

Starting yesterday, the passenger side door will not lock or unlock when either the key fob or the door lock/unlock button is pressed inside. It attempts to lock/unlock, you can see the lock jump up and down as you press either button but it just can't seem to make it the whole way. Any ideas?

Either the actuator, or the control rod is bad or bent. Remove the trim panel and inspect, try this first, open the door, and look for a rivet on the lower edge of the door below the claw. If the rivet has poped out, re-riveting will fix it, but it is a special heavy duty rivet and requires a special heavy gun!

MERLIN IS CORRECT, HOW EVER IF U CAN HELP IT. INSTEAD OF RIVETS, USE NUT AND BOLT, 2 REPLACE YUR SELF IN THE FUTURE
