1990 Lincoln Town Car Transmission wont shift into 3rd gear

Recently the transmission started making a "whining" sound and will no longer shift into 3rd gear or passing gear at cruising speed. The transmission was replace last year and I changed the filter and fluid two days ago which did not seem to help. Can you offer me any insite?

When a transmission has a whinning sound it is usually the torque converter or the pump. I would take it back into the people who did your transmission last and have them look at it. Most rebuilt transmissions have at least a 12 month 12,000 mile warranty.
