I need to know if when the grove on my harmonic balancer is lined up with the tab that hangs over it, is that top dead center, or 10 degrees before top dead center.

THE GROVES ARE LABELED EVERY 10 DEGREES. CRAWL UNDER THE CAR AND HIT THAT AREA OF THE HARMONIC BALANCER WITH SANDPAPER TO CLEAN IT UP, WILL BE EASY TO READ.
