2003 Lincoln LS Grinding noise after starting

Loud grinding noise immediately after car starts. Only occurs after car sits for 2 or more hours. If car is shut off and quickly restarted there is no grinding noise.

If the engine runs fine despite this noise, then it's probably one of the engine's accesories being driven by the serpentine belt.

You can listen for it while the engine is running to narrow it down. If it is coming from this area, remove the belt and turn each pulley by hand until you feel/hear the source of the noise.
