1999 Lincoln Continental Engine somtimes will not start

Somtimes the engine turns over but will not start untill I put the shift in nutural, get out of the car and push it back and forth a few times. Then it starts right up and may not have a problem for weeks.

Doing that can be an issue with the digital transmission range sensor-do this have helper hold key in starting position and check for power at the TRS white and orange wire if you have it replace the sensor-Let me know what's going on
