Hi,
I have a 1997 Lincoln Continental with 136,000 miles. It is in excellent shape. However, there is a great deal of noise (rattling type) coming from under the trunk area. This has been happening for quite a while. I was told by a friend that I need new stabilizers. Would anyone know how much I would expect to pay for new stabilizers?
Thanks very much

Maybe they mean sway bar links.

Those are very inexpensive. It is a good do it yourself project for a shady tree mechanic (makes us look real busy when we arent) but if you've barely done your own tune-up, I'd reccomend that you take it into a shop. They can do a quick inspection while they are under your car to see if anything is out of place. And the repairs themselves arent expensive at all $150 to 165 parts and labor tops, unless they have a high markup.

When you go in, tell them you need the swaybar links replaced in the rear. Saves you diagnostic cost =)
