Transmission problem
1997 Lincoln Continental V8 Front Wheel Drive Automatic

While driving for a while, I believe whats happening is the transmission is getting hot. Once it gets hot I start loosing gears starting from the high gear.

Hi there,

Often transmission faults need to be driven first hand or at best have a few test done to determine the cause of certain faults, normally a transmission that is overheating is suffering from some slippage in the clutch packs, you may have a blocked trans filter or a problem with the oil cooler, so I would get a transmission specialist to do an inspection & report on the problem.
