I was given a 95 Linclin for free so this is not a complaint about it just a question about the transmission or cv axles
while im driving the car I hear a grinding not like metal to metal but like gears grinding rough I hear it only when I let off the gas and as soon as I put torque back on or I guess press back on the gas it goes away and comes back when I let off gas again and it dont do it in park, neutral, or idle please help im afraid the wheel will fall off with the kids in the car the owner I got the car from said the trans was fairly newly rebuilt mabe it was a bad job?

Have the wheel bearings checked. Does the noise change if you lightly turn the wheel left or right? If so it could very welll just be a wheel bearing

? I was on the way home from lunch today and realized its more like a chatter and dosent stop until a complete stop is made or unless like I said before I give it gas it goes away then to. Just when im coasting and coming to a stop that it does it I put it on jack stands yesterday and had my wife press the gas and with the front wheels off the ground it sounds like its coming from the trans area and it did it alot worse with the tires off the ground or atleast sounded worse to me being right near it when she reved it up. And there is no sounds when turning unless im coasting if I give it gas when I turn the sound goes away grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Could be a problem with the diff in the trans. Might want to consider having a shop you trust look at it and give you their opinion
