Limp mode

I am thinking about buying the car listed above. The guy says it runs great but every time you go to put it in gear it goes into limp mode. Does anyone have any ideas on what it could be? I want to make sure I am not getting into a expensive problem or a head ache. I am buying the car for $500.00 and between school and my everyday life I do not want to go in the hole. So please if you have any ideas please help.

If it is going into limp mode there will be a fault code set, it may not set a check light so get a scan done. I would see if you can get it checked with a high end scanner and make sure that the transmission is checked as well. Many generic scanners may not scan deep enough for this problem. Post back any codes for further assistance.
