I have the car listed above Sedan. I know very little about cars, so any help is appreciated before I sink a bunch of unnecessary money into it when it was something simple. My right rear blinker went out about a week ago. Over the weekend my inside lights (I think they are called vanity lights and reading lights, all are on the roof and driver and passenger mirrors) and my left rear blinker went out. They (turn signal lights) do not come on, under any circumstance, even when my hazard lights are on they do not come on, but they do make a very rapid sound. All other exterior lights including front signal lights work fine.

Additionally, my car will not shift out of Park. My friend removed all the surrounding cover and I have to shift it by pulling the cable inside of a round looking piece. This can't be good.

Basically, my questions are: 1) What do you think is wrong with my lights? Do you think I need to change the entire housing unit for a signal?
2) Does my shift need to be changed?

Hi,

The first thing I would suggest is to check the body control module fuses. I attached a pic below if the ones to check and their locations. Pic 1 is for exterior lighting, including the signals. The second pic is of the courtesy lights. The think is, both of these systems are controlled by the body control module (BCM). Note that the fuses are all related.

As far as the park issue, are the brake lights working? Double check. The park release actuator is powered via the brake light switch.

If all fuses are good, then you need to have the computer scanned for diagnostic trouble codes. With an upper level or dealer scan tool, it will identify if there are codes related to the body control module.

Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions.

Take care,
Joe
