I received a set of lifters for my engine and the lifters with the springs were like the ones that came out of the engine. However, the other lifters were not the same as the old ones. The holes in the old ones are in the back of the lifter holder and the new ones are on the sides. Does this make a difference? Attached are pictures.

Thanks

Yes. That makes a difference because the hole is used to allow the oil into the lifter. If they are not lined up then your lifter will not pump up.

I am attaching the process from the manual on how to replace these because you need to make sure they are aligned.

Let us know if you have other questions. Thanks
