Hi!
What is causing my car to make a loud squeaking noise when I drive? Had the brakes replaced 2 weeks ago so I know I don't need new pads. The squeaking stops the second you apply the brakes. I've been told so many different things that it could be and not sure who to trust or what to believe. One person told me that the reason for the squeaking is due to the brake pads being new and that they haven't "settled in" yet.

PLEASE TELL ME WHY IT'S SQUEAKING AND HOW TO FIX IT!

Thank you in advance for any and all help/advice!

Could be the wrong pads installed. Disces were not ground properly. There are just a few causes for your problem, non of which require the pads to wear in.
On the Lexus I have there is a bedding in proceedure that is to be done by the tech doing the brake job that requires he drive the vehicle at 60mph then apply hard braking. This done several times till the brakes reach a high temp. This proceedure may be required on your model.
In any case the brakes should not be making any kind of noise after maintenance or replacement.
