Engine Performance problem
1994 Lexus LS 400 V8 Two Wheel Drive 110000 miles

the wife was driving up a hill and the car completely lost all pick up ability, started sputtering and had a little smoke from under hood, she drove directly to repair shop but it will be a few days before they look at it, any ideas what I may be in for?

It could be the MAR, mass ori flow sensor, located in the intake piping just behind teh air filter.
2. Possible coil failure (their are 2, if one gets weak or fails the car is only 1/2 runing right.
3. Plugged Catalytic converters.
