2006 Other Land Rover Models 2006 LR3

I have a 2006 LR3 and have 2 strange issues. They didn't necessarily start at same time but could be related.

1. Currently won't start. It Cranks. When you turn the key the engine keeps cranking until you release the key. Mechanic says no fuel and no spark. Think it is security related. This started 2 days after taking car in for appraisal. Car sat for Two Days after we brought home. Went to go drive and just cranked. I see various posts on security issues but very little mention LR3. Mechanic not having much luck so thought I would do searching myself

2. For about a month car would not shift in morning or afternoon and night and sometimes durign the day on cloudy days. We could manual shift but automatic Shift would not work. We took to mecahnic to check out and did not happen. We narrowed it down to when the lights were on it has the problem and when lights are off it shifts fine. Didn't originally pick this up at first as the auto lights come on when it is not to dark out. We were taking the car to the mechanic again to look as this once we figured out how to duplicate but item 1 happened.

For item 2 I did remove the battery and try a different battery to see if it might be battery related. It was not. I saw on some of the other starting posts that removing battery can cause security issues. However I removed the Battery a week before the no start issue happened. Original battery has been back in the system since the test made no difference on shifting and drove car for over week before the no start happened
