When I turn my car (all the way the wheel can go to the right) it makes a loud knocking sound. It also pulls to that side once and awhile when I am going over 40 mph.

Okay. Let me start with the pulling. If the vehicle alignment is off, then it will pull to one side on almost any road. The only exceptions are those that have enough crown or slope to counter act the pulling. So if you let go of the wheel, then the vehicle will go to one direction. That is a pull that needs to be corrected. If it does it only once in a while, they I would suspect the road be the issue. You can always have the alignment checked but I would hate to have you disappointed or frustrated if they can't correct it.

As for knocking noise, this is a suspension component that is worn out. Could be in the steering but I would start with the suspension. I included a procedure on how to check the suspension.

Let me know what you find and we can go from there.
