Sun visor hangs down ?

2008 KIA SPORTAGE
36,000 MILES • 4 CYL • FWD • AUTOMATIC

My wife likes to leave the driver's sun visor down all the time and now it will not stay in the upper most position nested in the headliner recess. How to I fix this? The car is under warranty, so no problem if it is covered, but I'd like to fix this myself if possible (meaning without buying a part).

What can I do short of removing the thing?

The only problem with the visor is it needs to be pushed further into the support rod here are diagrams to help you (below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.
