I have a problem with the shifter sticking alot. I have tried WD40 and it works for awhile and then its hard to shift into any gears. Any suggestions? If its the shifter cable, how much do they run and how hard to fix? Thanks!

Hi ldysarah,

If WD40 works, then you should use oil instead. WD40 will dry up quickly.

Which area did you apply the lubricants? Inside or out connection?

I applied the WD40 to the bottom of the shifter itself. The part where the shifter connects to the console.I hope that makes sense :) Its the part where the letters are visable. Which oil is better to use? The shifting gets better as I use it but by the end of the day its a struggle to get it into drive etc.I dont know how to get the console part off to put anything inside. So I put it at the base hoping it would sink thru to the inside.

Hi ldysarah,

Engine oil will do.

To remove console you need to start from the rear section, look for screws and remove them. The console can be lifted up after the screws are removed.

With Engine OFF, shift to 2 to remove the front part.
