Will the timing chain/ belt breaking on my Kia Sephia affect the valves? It suddenly quit on me the other day it had been running rough and the check engine light was on.

Your Kia does have an interference engine, meaning if the timing chain was to break during operation that there is most likely going to be valves damaged. Only way to tell for sure is just replace the chain then do compression check on cylinders.
