Transmission problem
2002 Kia Sedona Engine Size unknown Front Wheel Drive Automatic 160000 miles

I am changing a transmission on a 2002 kia sedone front wheel drive and I was looking at the cross member that goes wright under the tranny and its welded into place.

on other models ive worked on they were bolted and I only needed to take it off so there would be room for the tranny to comme out from under the car I was wondering if possibly I had to grind it off, cut it or perhaps these vans were made so that you could take the transmission out overhead instead of underneath?

Hello,
Actually you do have to remove the sub frame assembly with the steering rack. It all bolts up. For the best free instruction, go to Kia's website (KGIS) online at www. Kiatechinfo. Com. It has step by step for replacing everything in the van.

Enjoy,

Jasper
