Knock sensor

I have a 2000 kia sephia w/ 1.8L 4cyl. Auto trans. W/ 52000 miles I recently changed my knock sensor which was bad now I am getting an code for the knock sensor that said knock sensor range/performance problem it lost a lot of power and above 4000 RPM the engine knocks kia wants me to bring it in and won't even give me a hint to what it maybe HELP anyone

Have you torqued the knock sensor bolt to the correct tightness? On the Kia's a knock sensor code is usually stored when the hydraulic valve lifters / tappets are noisy and this is transfered through the block to the sensor. The origional fault is probably poor engine oil or faulty hydraulic lifters.
