My grinding noise I suspected the drive train; my mechanic said the clutch was slipping, as I only had the car less than a week hard to tell, but I did hear the grinding noise and the KA dealership replaced the clutch said the tranny and brakes OK.
BUT the original problem was and still is electrical. KIA has a history of 'floating grounds' which make car seem to be inhabited by poltergiests, nobody has the same presentation mechanical difficulty.
Mine is car starts when key turned over, then hours later dies at idle, then takes 4 or 5 seconds to fire when key is turned over, then later takes 8 seconds, fires once if lucky, if not no fire, then tow to shop. This is the major problem not fixed and I'm sure its electrical but now, the 3rd effort, this KIA wants $1000 to replace a major electrical unit; is this a genuine fix or they just trying to run me off with the price as hunting for a floating ground would take days?
