Key stuck in the ignition and battery is drained

2008 DODGE CARAVAN

the gear was left in drive and the key was in the ignition it was left overnight now the battery is drained and key will not come out. everything is locked up. how can I fix this?

Hello,

You are going to have to get a battery charger or jumper cables on the battery then the key will come out once there is 12 volts back on the system.

Tom is correct. You need to regain power to the vehicle before it will turn off. You can recharge the battery or jumpstart it as he mentioned. Here are a couple links you may find helpful:
