I can't turn the vehicle listed above manual transmission ignition key to "on" position. It's stuck at "off" and steering wheel is locked.

I wiggle the steering wheel but still it's stuck at "off".

In fact, the key should be at ACC and a pin under the ignition be pressed to let the tumbler come out easily.

But, I can't make the key to ACC, on or start!

I have tried with the spare keys, research on internet, but no help!

So, how to remove the ignition cylinder under this situation?
Please kindly help. It's emergency.

If the key doesn't turn at all then it is either the key or ignition switch. If it would turn to the ACC position then it could be the shift interlock but if it won't turn at all then that would not make sense.

If other keys will not turn it either then it would be the switch. However, before you replace it, try using some spray lubricant in the switch and then work the key back and forth to see if it loosens up.

If not then you will need to replace it. Unfortunately we don't have a manual on your vehicle as it is not offered here in the USA but the Accent is pretty close so this process may not be exact but it will be close.

I removed the ignition cylinder lock set and attached herewith its photo.

There are 2 connectors on the cylinder set with 2 wires each.

1. What are their purposes especially those wires attached around the black ring?

2. Also, if I am to replace the whole ignition cylinder set, do I have to replace the smartra unit since the ignition keys has transponder which communicate with the smartra allowing the engine to start up.

3. Please, guide what are the necessary information to change the whole ignition cylinder lock set? Is key reprogramming required for new key sets?

I'm afraid the same issue ignition lock issues might reoccur sometime in the future.

The wires attached the black ring are for the antenna that picks up the signal from the key. I labeled each set of wires, 1 and 2. Then the wiring diagram showing this.

The set labeled 2 is for the key warning circuits. Take a look at the attachments out of a USA version of this vehicle. They should be close enough that they help you get this done.

Thanks

Since the key stuck at ACC intermittently, I want to replace my key.

Do I have to change only the ignition cylinder lock set and the key? What about the antenna ring, etc?

Please advise on this.

No. If you replace just the key then you need to get it cut to match the current key (assuming you have a metal blade key and not a plastic key) and then it needs to be programmed to be able to be recognized by the ignition system. Most any shop can do this for you or a dealership. Some scan tools that you can purchase or may have can do it but if you don't, it is cheaper to have it done.
