I drive my vehicle everyday, my key unlocks my doors, and starts my truck, but when I turn my truck off the key stops at accessory and slides out. My ignition won't lock and my battery drains. So for everyday for about a month now I've had to disconnect and reconnect my battery cables every time I drive.

Hey TYLER SMITH4,

It sounds like you need a new ignition barrel/cylinder.

Following the instructions below remove the cylinder.
You shouldn't have to remove the steering wheel to do this but you will need to remove the column covers.
There will be a button you need to push in on the side to release the cylinder from the housing, the key needs to be in the ACC position to do this.

Replacing the cylinder will mean that you then have a different key for doors and ignition but should fix your problem.

Hope that helps, any further questions please do not hesitate to ask.

Regards, Joe
