I took the ignition out and the blue piece came out of the edge and a piece was broken in there. It was a small tab that was broken off. Do you know what this is? Looks like I need to cut the wires and replace it. Thanks!

Hi,

I took a look at the pics you attached. I'm not 100% sure what that is. Is there anything attached to it? For example, is there any wiring to it?

Also, if you look below, I copied a portion of your pic and circled what appears to be a part number, but I can't read it. What does it say?

Let me know.

Joe

I thought I responded earlier but I don't see my message now. Here it is. There are wires going to it.

Hi,

The component you have is part of the clock spring assembly. See pics 1 and 2 below. Now that I figured out the part is A11335D and not A11885D, I was able to find it.

That part should be related to the door open, or the key in the ignition indicator.

Take a look below and let me know if that helps.

Hi,

You are very welcome. I just hope it helped. As far as the part, check on eBay. I saw a couple for sale on there. See pic below

Take care and feel free to come back anytime in the future.

Hi,

Interestingly, it can be called a clock spring, or an airbag contact assembly. If you look below, I attached the OEM part number. There are two different ones based on if you have cruise control or not.

Pic 1 shows the OEM part numbers, and pic 2 shows an example with cruise control. Simply google search Ford part number xxx.

Let me know if this helps.

Sorry for such a late reply. I have been working really hard on this truck.
I found the part, Thanks. It has No Cruise Control (Manual 5 Speed) so I will order that.

FYI:
Today while driving home, this exact buzzer sound (Door open) is now happening when I turn on the windshield wipers. So each time the wiper goes off, so does the door open sound. Lol! Also tonight it was randomly beeping even when the wipers were off. I think if I replace that ignition switch, it will fix it. I still have not replaced it.

Hi,

Thanks for the update. The beeping is an interesting one. Something from the wipers is feeding power where it shouldn't. LOL

Let me know how things turn out or if there is anything I can do to help.

Take care and I hope you had a nice Christmas.

Upon further investigation, it is the "seatbelt disconnected beeper". But it is not working correctly. If I plug in the seat belt (driver side) it beeps. If I disconnect the seatbelt, it does nothing and even the dash light does not come on. Still, the beep happens randomly with the windshield wipers! When I bought the truck, the connector under the seat going to the seatbelt receptacle was disconnected. They must have had the same problem. :) Thats all for now, thanks for reading!

Hi,

Thanks for the update. Wow, are you sure that isn't a weight sensor? This is an odd one. Let me know.
