Flashing a key for ignition switch

I just had my flywheel and ignition coil replaced and the guy tells me that I have to get my key flashed, does that sound right?

No, not for those reasons unless disconnecting the battery caused it to lose memory somehow. That is rare, but not impossible.

So how do I go about getting the key flashed, and what does that mean I have to do.

That is key programming that only the dealer or a locksmith can do.
