It starts up but only for about 5 to 10 seconds and shuts off.

Hi,

Chances are you are losing fuel pressure. Can you hear the fuel pump running when the key is turned on?

What I suggest is this. If you have a scanner or access to one, check to see if there are diagnostic trouble codes. Here is a quick video showing how it's done:

I realize most people don't own a scanner, but oftentimes, a parts store will lend one to you.

Next, if there are no codes, the next thing I would check is fuel pressure. Here is a link that explains how that is done. You will need a fuel pressure gauge, but most parts stores will lend one to you.

Let me know what you find. Also, let me know if this happened all at once.

Let me know.

Take care,

Joe
