Check engine light came on at cold start. Car won't idle for more than 10 seconds. Engine surges at 3000 rpm. Sometimes it surges at any rpm. Sometimes it stalls when you are going down the road, but then recovers.

Get the computer scanned for OBD2 code/s and comeback with the code/s this is where we start-

Or you can try the idle air control valve and the throttle position sensor/EGR valve-

Thanks Razmataz for the quick response.
Here are the codes:
0340 Camshaft sensor circuit malfunction.
0107 Manifold absolute pressure/Barometric pressure circuit range low input
1296 No 5 volts to map sensor.

I checked the idle air control valve and the EGR valve. I appreciate any suggestions.

I'd work on the MAP sensor find out why there's No 5 volts reference to it-maybe an open wire between the sensor and PCM-
