I notice the smell of gas after I shut off the vehicle, there does not appear to be a leak I can find. It now takes longer to start. These are the steps I have taken- turn the key on ten seconds then turn off and back on again and it starts right up. I iused a scanner and the code came up as fuel evap system leak ( large ). I tested the pressure and after the key is turned off it slowly drops pressure. I saw this post prior and it is the same problem that I am having but I could not find the solution--- Recently my Jeep has started taking considerably longer to start, it turns over for 15 seconds or more. When it finally starts it chugs and runs rough for a minute, almost as if it isn't getting enough fuel. Upon starting there is a smell of gas inside the cab. There are no visible leaks on the gound and there is no hesitstion of power at any speed. A friend of mine stated he thought it may be a fuel pump or an injector. How do I find out for sure? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Either there is a leak somewhere or or the fuel has a drain back issue. There may be a kit that can be installed on the fuel pump to fix that or you may need to replace the fuel pump module.

The fuel smell may be related to the evap code. By the sounds of it, a smoke test should uncover that.
