1999 Jeep Wrangler. Recently replaced the old rusty radiator. Unless I'm missing it somewhere there is no transmission cooler anywhere.
I started noticing recently (obviously because the weather is getting hot) that the entire console area between the seats from armrest to shifter (directly above the transmission) gets very hot. So hot that most of the time I can't use the cup holder because the ice in the drinks melts so quickly.
What might be causing this? Is my transmissio overheating.
Also. Within the last week (again really hot outside in Texas) I've noticed that after driving for a while with the a/c on I have a huge puddle of water in the passenger floorboard that soaks up through the carpet. I know its supposed to drip the condensation from the a/c running but this is a lot of water and I'm not real sure where it's coming from.

Thanks for the help
BJ

First, with a manual transmission, there is no cooler. Also, it is normal to feel some heat from the drive line. IF you think it is excessive, make sure the transmission is full of oil.

As far as the water on the carpet, it sounds like the drain is plugged causing the water to back up into the vehicle. What to do is look under the hood of the vehicle. On the passanger side of the firewall, you will see a black rubber tube that has a 90 degree bend down on it. That is where the water should be going from the ac. Make sure it isn, plugged.

Let me know what you find.
