Once my jeep has wramed up it cuts off while accellrating from 1st thru 4th gear. The check engine light comes on and the enige shuts off for a few seconds. I have connected a tester to it and no codes show up it passes the test. It also does not do it in 5th gear. There is a shift indicator light on the dash and Im wondering if this is poosibly shorting out some how and causing this. Can this light be disconnected somehow to test and see if that is the problem without damaging the computor?

It is at low RPMs I would say around 1500 or so. It doesn't hesitate it completely cut off just like you tunr the switch off or something. The check engine light comes on when it does this and it just kinda jerks momentarily and the light will go back off and it starts running again. Its just like you turn the ignition switch off and then back on.

The first thing I would like you to do is start it than shake the wire harness that goes to the crank shaft pos sensor the harness is located at the back of the intake manofold its a 3 pin comector give it a slight tug and move it side to side
from what your saying I believe that thier is a short in the electrical system and the eng twist I believe its pulling on the wires there are only a few things that will shut off your jeep and not leave a code. Also if you can get a friend to power brake it and see how high the eng comes up you might also have a broken motor mount which is causing the wires to get pulled

does it stall in reverse?
