Hi Im mike, Itook my car into jiffy lube for a oil change, and they told me that my oil was real dirty and I needed a engine flush, they used gumout Ibeen using a synthetic oil and changed it after 5.000 miles. It been 500 miles since ihad this done and everything is fine. Inoticed the oil pressure is slighty higher. But no problems so far. My question is was it a good idea, because every thing iread on line about engine flush is about 95 percent negative. Whats your opinon.

Engine flushing has it's good and bad points, normally there is no problems with doing this, as it will help remove any sludge and carbon deposits, normally engines that are extremely dirty can have a few problems with on going pressure and lifter problems, but this is more to do with age and condition, if the car is in good condition (engine) an occasional flush will not be a problem at all.

Don't do it! If you have not neglected the engine, and you have been using synthetic oil, IT"S NOT something you need. Jiffy Lube needs your money more than your jeep needs a colon cleanser.
