89 Jeep Comanche, need to hold key forward

I have an 89 comanche pioneer, it will stall when I release the key after starting. If I hold the key forward it will stay running until I release it. Thanks for any help

The ignition circuit in the ignition switch is open its bad-the reason why it starting on the start postion because the start feed circuit is powering the ignition circuit in the switch. Get a fresh switch and have a nice day.
