1995 Other Jeep Models V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic

i have a 1995 Grand Cherokee Limited, V8 5.2. The water pump had frooze on me n I got it fix n now when I put the drive belt on it come off. Why is doing this n what can I do to fix it.

Double check pulley alignment. Also check the tensioner to be sure it is holding sufficient tension on thebelt. This could be a bad bearing in an idler pulley letting the belt walk off. Careful visual inspection should show what is wrong
