Hello!

1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee, I keep having to charge my battery (new), the charge will not hold. When I drive the vehicle it's fine for a few minutes then it (battery) slowly starts going down. Then I loose my power steering and it just shuts down. I tried removing the positive battery cable while at idle to see if it's the alternator, the truck keeps running no problem. If I turn on the A/C with or without the A/C relay plugged in the truck just dies instantly.
I'm at a loss, I don't know how to figure this out.
Would appreciate any help you could give.
Thanks!

Hook up a voltmeter to the battery record the no load reading, now start it up the reading should from 1/2-2volts over the no load-if not have the alternator load tested if its okay start testing the wiring

I keep having to charge my battery (new), the charge will not hold-could also be a short circuit draining the battery overnite
