Hi recently I decide to change my transmission fluid.I went to recommended place and ask for help and what I need to change. Flush was recommended and the filter the guy said is ok no leaks so I did just flush and I have my new transmission fluid But I have a question and I hope you can help me, my friend said that I should also change the filter and I didn't do it;(so what can happen to my jeep now if I didn't change the transmission filter? Is it ok to keep driving?Or should I go back and change the fluid again with the filter?Or I can keep going for another 30000 and then next time change my filter? Can I damage my transmission without new filter?Pleas help me I am confused? My Jeep Liberty is running so nice and I don't want to damage my transmission. Thank You Sincerely Norbert.

I always recommend replacing the filter. Think about it. The purpose of the filter is to collect dirt. New trans fluid has a detergent in it. WHen the new fluid goes through the dirty filter, it cleans it out and puts the dirt back into the trans.

I hate to say it but I do recommend replacing it. I'm not saying that it will hurt the trans if you don't, but it is the right way to do it.

Let me know if you have other questions.
Joe
