2003 Jeep Liberty Brake Lights

2003 Jeep Liberty Four Wheel Drive Automatic 60000 miles

This morning my brake lights were on when I went out to the Jeep (2003 Liberty) it started right up but when I turned off the ignition the lights remained on. What could be my problem?

Hi:
There is a brake light switch on the top of the brake pedal (under dash) that may be loose, bad, or out of adjustment. Check that.
