I have a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo with a 4.7L V8 and 4x4 all the time. I purchased it a month ago today, and it has died on my way to work twice now. The first time, I didn't notice it had died until I was at the stop light, not going anywhere. The second time was today, and I caught it because I noticed I couldn't turn the wheel (no power steering), so I popped it in neutral and started it back up without a problem. I haven't noticed a shudder or anything when it dies. Not sure when it died the first time, but this time I was accelerating a little fast to pass a vehicle, then immediately after started breaking due to slowing traffic. When the Jeep idles, you can sometimes feel a light rough idle, but you almost don't notice it.

Not sure when plugs were changed last, but that's my first thought. Any other ideas on why it would be stalling?

It could need a tune up. Also, check for vacuum leaks and let me know if the check engine light has come on.

I think I've fixed it. I used some Lucas fuel system cleaner and then my check engine light came on for oxygen sensor, so I replaced that, and it hasn't died yet. Although, now the check engine came on a week later, but I think that may be because the O2 sensor isn't tight enough. Going to go check it out tonight.
