Recently my "check engine" light came on and my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo began to stall whenever I would slow down or come to a stop. I ran a diagnostic test and came up with a trouble code of P0505 which is Idle Air Control Motor Circuits. I went ahead and replaced the Idle air control valve and it seemed to run fine for about 2 weeks and then started to do the same thing again. I went and got another IAC valve and replaced it again but this time only got a few hours out of it before it started stalling again. Does anyone know what else could be the problem, or what would be causing the Idle Air Control Valves to go bad? Please let me know if anyone has any input. Thank you very much!

It could be the place where you are getting parts from, did you get one from a dealer or a regular auto parts store because if you did not buy them from a dealer, you are playing the lottery. The shops that I deal with do not buy their sensors from auto stores most of the time because of the failure rates of most auto parts store's sensors. Places like NAPA and carquest are better than most though. Also if you you that you are gettign a good product, then check the voltage going into the sensor and make sure it is not burning them out or shorting them out. Make sure the wires in the harness are not broken or there is not any bare wires from being rubbed up against something. I have bought sensors from a store once and went through 3 of them before getting one from a dealer that never gave me any troubles after that just an fyi.
