Only when it's very cold outside (winter), when I start out with no war-up, there is an engine-rev (slip) when the transmission shifts from 2nd to 3rd. After everything is warmed up there is no problem at all.

Any thoughts on this? Last year I did have the transmission fluid drained and filled. Level is presently good.

I would have someone check your governor pressure regulator, if that is not bad, then your transmission may need an over haul. It sounds like maybe your valve bodies going bad or a clutch plate is bad. If you decide that your transmission is bad, try looking for one in a junk yard with low miles and you may come out cheaper. The transmissions for your jeep and the grand cherokee are very sensitive to their fluid changes and need to be changed at their regular intervals. Also, some of the Jeep transmission's fluid pumps do not operate at capacity until they are out of park, so when you idle them to warm up before leaving and they are in park, they are not dispersing fluid throughout the trans like they should be and shorten the life of your transmission. This is not widely known but true. Just a little information for the future.
