Hello I hope some one out there will be able to help me.
After my car sat for a while running it over heated. The fan wdid not kick in once I got it home I bought a new fan motor connected it ran the car and it would turn on. So I knew the problem was not the motor so I bought a fan relay installed it and still it would not come on so some thing told me to to turn the air on not the ac just the air when I did it was on low and than I heard the fan come on. So now it stay's running only when I have the ac/airor heater controls on. Does anyone know what could be causing this? Its a 200 jeep learado 4.0 6cylin. Thanks anyhelp would be greatly apprcaited.

First of all thank you so much for your donation.I posted how your fan operates if it come's on with the a/c and not when it get's hot i would suspect you have a bad coolant temp sensor i posted a diagram of where it is.They really don't have a test for the sensor that i could find they just say if the scan tool doesn't read the correct temp compared to coolant temp to replace the sensor.Unless you have a scan tool that reads live data you would be unable to check that.I would just replace the sensor they should be pretty cheap. If you change it make sure the engine is cool.
