1996 Jeep Laredo loose belt

1996 Jeep Laredo 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive

My 96 jeep grand cherokee loredo 4.0L has a loose belt. How do I tighten it?

From the front of the jeep look aprox center of fron of engine slightly to the right. There is an adjuster there. You need to first loosten the bolt on the center of the adjuster pulley. Next there is a bolt on the side of the adjuster (15mm I think) that adjust the tensionier in and out. If you tighten the bolt, it will tighten the belt.
