1995 Jeep Laredo ENGINE LIGHT ON BATTERY DECHARGING EVEN WH

Can someone please help me. Engine light is on and battery drains all the way down while running. This has been happening for acouple of weeks. Sometimes it will just go from almost dead to full charge instantly. I was thinking that this was happening because of bitter cold. But now is completely draining even when not that cold

Hi:
either you have a bad battery or alternator. Take the vehicle to a nationally recognized parts store and have them check alternator output, and have them place a load test on the battery. Most places will do it for free and that way we will know where the problem is coming from. You may also want them to scan the computer for codes since the check engine light is on.
