My head gasket blew, while I was driving. It blew on the water intake/filter side (? On accuracy there, this is just a brother's diagnostic, not a professional) and water got into my oil can. Oil came out of my dipstick area where I put oil in. It shook, rattled, and power steering shut off (possibly oil got on belt? Not sure) and engine cut, acceleration stopped (not sure also if this is a safety thing due to power steering cut out or because water was in engine). It smoked after oil shot out the top of engine and dipstick area. It starts, but shakes and rattles, with a knocking sound. I'm told my entire lower engine under my head gasket needs to be replaced. According to my description, does this sound accurate? IF so, about how much would that cost me?

Sounds like engine is shot, overheating is most likely the fault but once damage is done its done. If replacing the bottom end of motor should just get an entire used engine assembly. Car-parts. Com is a good site to find local salvage yards in your area. Labor fees for removing and replacing your vehicle's engine assembly will be around $550, it takes around 8 labor hours to replace it.
